Royal Enfield Continental GT Review

If you had a time machine, how would you use it? We’d travel back to England in the Swinging Sixties—the nation’s defining decade! Young people embraced their freedom and flocked to cafés on stylish, stripped down motorcycles.

Well, the Royal Enfield Continental GT may be the only time machine you need. A café racer that hearkens back to an era long past, it nods to the nostalgia of many Philadelphia, PA; Wilmington, DE; and Cherry Hill, NJ, riders.

We can feel your excitement already. Turn up those Rolling Stones tunes or relive Beatlemania as you read our review. Plan your own British Invasion with the team at Quaker City Motor Sport!

Royal Enfield Welcomes You to the ‘60s

Remember when motorcycling was all about making a statement? We do. And we know a café racer like the Royal Enfield Continental GT can help you experience it for the first time. Get a load of those retro-inspired clip-on handlebars that offer an optimum mix of steering feel and comfort!

The arc of that bump-stop seat is one more style throwback. The stripped-down classic racer silhouette recreates the café culture right here in the tri-state area. And the durable double cradle frame and twin rear shock absorbers complete the picture.

Available in these classic colors, this beautiful bike is a head-turner wherever the open road may lead you—especially the corner café down the street:

  • Black Magic
  • Dr. Mayhem
  • Ice Queen
  • Ventura Blue
  • Mister Clean

Continental GT: Evolution in Ergonomics

Sure, the new GT 650 echoes the classic Royal Enfield Continental of decades ago. But this is a motorcycle made new for the modern rider.

The rear-set footrests improve cornering clearance and lean the rider forward, so weight shifts to the front end of the motorcycle. Yes, you’re placed just so to have the balanced ride you desire—and feel at one with your new café racer!

Spirited Continental GT 650 Twin Engine

Meet the next evolution of the GT line—the new Continental GT 650 Twin. This one recaptures the spirit of the original Continental GT 250 Twin, developed for the 1965 market when this café racer made its celebrated debut.

The specs? This 648-cc engine offers you 47 horsepower at 7150 RPM and up to 52 Nm torque at 5250 RPM. The real secret lies in power delivery. The 650 Twin offers 80% of the maximum torque at as low as 2500 RPM.

Enjoy the smooth and rapid progress without constant gear changes. And drink in the details of the engine design! The GT 650 Twin features a classic horizontal split running through the motorcycle. It juxtaposes the pure, mechanical details and the elegant fuel tank and seat above them.
